Melbourne Warblers Choir Introduction
The Melbourne Warblers Choir is a legally registered mixed-voice choir in the state of Victoria, Australia, dedicated to choral arts. The choir was founded by Liu Xincong, who currently serves as the president and permanent conductor. Liu Xincong is a senior member of the Chinese Musicians’ Association, a vocal music educator, former deputy director of the Music Department at Capital Normal University, and a master’s degree supervisor in vocal studies.
The members of the Melbourne Warblers Choir come from diverse professional backgrounds, including education, arts, finance, law, healthcare, commerce, and other fields, all sharing a deep passion for vocal music. The choir has performed and accumulated a repertoire of over 160 choral, ensemble, and solo works in various languages, including Chinese, English, Italian, German, French, Russian, and Esperanto. This collection includes commissioned works specially composed for the choir, as well as original arrangements and premieres by the Melbourne Warblers.
Since its establishment in 2019, the Melbourne Warblers Choir has actively participated in international and national music events. Notable performances include the 12th World Peace Choral Festival, an invited performance at Vienna’s Golden Hall, and participation in the 5th Australia-China Sydney Music Festival at the Sydney Opera House. The choir has also taken part in major concerts such as the Liao Changyong Solo Concert and the "Yellow River Cantata" Special Concert. Additionally, the choir has played a key role in major cultural celebrations and festivals in Australia, while also producing over 50 music videos (MVs).


Liu Xincong
Professor Liu Xincong,The founder, conductor of the Melbourne Warblers Choir,she is also the member of the Chinese Musicians Association, a vocal music educator, and the president of the Chinese Choir Association in Australia. Throughout her career, Professor Liu has been dedicated to vocal music education, nurturing many students and achieving remarkable success. After retirement, he moved to Melbourne and has held vocal teaching positions in several choirs. Under her professional guidance, these choirs have achieved astonishing results.
Liu Zhengfu
Liu Zhengfu is the artistic director of the Melbourne Warblers Choir, responsible for the performance coordination and artistic creation of the Choir. He studied at the Drama Literature Department of the Shanghai Theatre Academy and also attended the training class for directors in the same period. He is one of the few professionals in the country who possess bothscriptwriting and directing titles and qualifications.
